How to Rule a Chicken Empire
"Step one: be a rooster. You have already completed step one."
Recruit. Walk up to stray hens (no ribbon) and Crow. Converts follow you in a little conga line. Lead them into your land and they become citizens.
Eggs are money. Citizens lay eggs that fly straight into the treasury. Happier hens lay faster.
Feed your people. Every hen eats 1 feed each night. Trade eggs for feed with Farmer Dale, in the farmhouse lands to the east.
Protect. Foxes, wolves and hawks come for your hens, mostly at night. Get close and you peck automatically. Crowing stuns predators and makes them drop hens.
Expand. Buy land from the humans, depose the three rival roosters in duels, and evict the beasts of the wild woods. Each land adds housing for 8 more hens.
Stay popular. If approval hits 0%, the hens stage a coup and elect a pigeon. Decrees change the rules, for better or worse.
Win by uniting all eight lands under your flag.
