How to ride

Touch controls

Steer: Put your thumb on the STEER pad and slide. A small slide is a small turn.
Gas: Always on. Just steer.
Brake: Slows you down. Hold it to reverse out of trouble.
Boost: Tap BOOST on the ground. The three bars inside the button are your boost meter.
Item: The ITEM button lights up and shows the item you are carrying.
Pause: Top right corner, any time.

The camera turns with the track, so up is always the way forward. Prefer a fixed map view? Switch Camera in Settings. Left-handed layout, steering assist, slow mode, volume, reduced motion, colour-blind mode and text size are there too.

Keyboard and controller

Keys: Arrows or WASD to steer, gas and brake. Space boosts. E or Shift uses items. P or Esc pauses.
Pad: Stick or d-pad, triggers for gas and brake, A boosts, X uses items, Start pauses.

Tricks

Hit a ramp fast, then tap BOOST in the air. Finish the trick before your wheels touch or you bail. Landed tricks fill the boost meter. Land straight for a PERFECT bonus.

Superman: Tap BOOST on its own.
Can-Can: Tap BOOST while steering left.
Heel Clicker: Tap BOOST while steering right.
Backflip: In the air the BRAKE button turns into FLIP. Slow, but worth triple boost. Needs big air.

Race craft

Holeshot: Tap BOOST the instant the lights go green for a free launch. Too early and you stall.
Mud: Bogs fill the middle of the track. Skim the edges.
Gravel: The bike slides. Turn in early.
Ice: Almost no grip. Steer gently and early.
Sand: Slow from edge to edge. Save a boost for after it.
Capsules: Glowing boxes give a random item. Riders at the back get the good stuff.

Turbo Soda: Instant boost.
Bottle Rocket: Homes in on the rider ahead of you.
Mud Pie: Drops behind you. Anyone who rides through it spins out.
Bubble Wrap: Blocks the next hit.
